Target Audience & BBFC
The British Board of Film Classification is an independent, non-governmental body, which has classified cinema films since it was set up in 1912, and videos since the passing of the Video Recordings Act in 1984. The BBFC helped us to classify our production. We chose to classify it as a 15 for several reasons, Including inappropriate language for a younger audience. There is also a strong level of violence, imitable techniques and a large amount or horror.
Overall our main target audience would be aged from 15 to 24 because of the teenage cast, the nature of the film and also children would find it too scary to watch and language may be inappropriate.
Its mainly aimed at woman although males might enjoy it too.
C1, C2 and DE is our target audience. This is due to the casting, most the characters are middle class.
The actors have northern accents so it would mainly appeal to the north of England but the south would also enjoy i because there not stereotypical northern people. Theres is evidence of movies doing extremly well even when filmed in the north of England. For example This is England and Fully Monty. It wouldn't appeal to people abroad because they cant relate to it. Although all our characters are Caucasian it doesn't mean it wont appeal to a non-Caucasian as other movies have reached a wide audience when used one ethnicity aswel as this the narrative and young cast will appeal to multi-ethnic audiences.
The audience we would appeal to would most likely enjoy films such as Scream, The ring and Halloween, The unborn.
The psychographic profile of a person who would watch my movie would enjoy reading the tabloids and would enjoy a jumpy slasher and having a good time. For example students.
The two teenage girls appeal to audience because they can relate the young female audience in which we are trying to target. Our final girl would make it more appealing for women because its showing the modern woman, being powerful and standing up against frightening events. There mostly likely going to be afraid of the genre. They two characters watch a movie which is a stereotypical thing for teenagers to do on a Friday night. There would narrative enigma so the audience need to be able to look deeper into the movie and try and work our the plot. The male gaze theory was founded by Laura Mulvey, she had an objection of women being seen as objects it changed women's perceptions of themselves and makes them think of themselves as objects The film we made did include the male gaze because all the characters are heterosexual. Males tend to look at the body or girls and not at talent, also men enjoy action too and our movie has scary events that occur. We also did this to reach wider audience. Be we have a binary opostion, as our final girl, which feminists would like so there is mix of stereotpyes.

Feedback etc adding notes, images and video.
We showed our finished media product to the class then we got a chance to amend any criticims they had and take on board the postitives.
Ben Garvey 17 - I like the twist at the end. Liked the POV of like someone is watching her spoooooky.
George Kneedham 16 - Fab Fab Fab, music works well even though Ive heard it all day
Georgina Cooke 16 - Lighting good in the living room, helps with the genre. Blurry makes it seem like a dream.
Lucy Heathcote 17 - Would like some more tension building music when girl walks home.
The audience agreed that we were targeting the correct audience, young actors, editing and the middle class accents where all put across well.
- As the cast were women that were shown, it was commented that the beginning could be signified as being a chick flick which we didn't intend on doing, we would of we shot it again to get across our idea and genre.
- The dark lighting of the outside shots were effective and worked well with the narrative
- The narrative enigma at the end pf the film was said to be a 'good unexpected twist'
- The jerky camera style while following the 'final girl' made it more believable
- When the camera was following the girl it was effective and built tension how there was no sound yet you could still hear the footsteps. It felt like someone was following her and was good for our narrative.
- However comments were made that the wind was picked up by the microphone which gave unwanted ambient sound.

Rought cut/s
The lighting in the room wasn't what we wanted, it looked too red. The recording was too long and when we tried re shooting it, it worked much better.
We had to do this shot several times because you could hear the footsteps of the person filming and the breathing was too loud although we did want to hear it abit to create tension for the audience. The shot was also extremly blury and the camera was also jilting and the picture quality wasn't as high quality as me wanted.
The shot is very shakey and the zoom went too fast to the window and looked unrealistic, we also wanted it more at a canted angle.
The group
This is our promotion for our movie. We chose a dark picture with red writing to signify blood.

We started our prilimanry task with 5 people but then we realised their wasn't a chance for everyone to use the camera. So we then decided to go in a group of three and we also had a german exchange who joined us.
This was great because we can callaborate together and put all idea's together.

We had some fun making a logo. We called the company OMG MEDIA because of the age of the group in which we are and also because we produced a slasher movie which will hopefully get the OMG (oh my god) effect.

Cinematography
All the shots we used were for a reason.
We show the logo with music playing in the background to set the scene, it then show who has directed and produced the movie, then our promotion poster.
The film starts with a shot of the house, its dark and mysterious. It then goes into a shot in the house with the two girls which is a visual bridge. This made you feel like someone was watching them from outside.
From the beginning of the clip we were trying to show the vulnerability or characters by using a high angle. Also watching a scary movie was setting the theme and is a signifier.
Then when the mother comes into the room she has a knife with her which is another signifier.
The two girls, one who is dressed in fun flirty clothes and the other in conservative clothes runs outside its shot at a dutch angle to show her vulnerability and how something bad is about the happen.
The picture and title in red and sharp sheriff signifies blood so the audience are getting a hint of the genre already.
We then chose to do a shot of the house to set the scene and show the time. It was also an inter textual link to Halloween. It then zooms in as if someone is trying to look for the people inside the house.
You then get a two shot of the girls watching a scary movie which also helps set the genre. This has an inter textual link to scream because she also says shes going to watch a scary movie.
You then get a shot of the reaction of the two girls you also get to see the mum in this shot entering the scene.
After that you get an over shoulder the shot from the mothers point of view, the knife is also in this shot to signify death.
Then shot from where to television is so you can see everyone in the room.
We then use the 180 degree rule this is show the conversation between the mum and friend of the daughters.
A Point of view shot from the mum is used to show when girl leaves house, match on action is taken place here.
We then use a long shot, to show the girl walking into the dark rural area. Slow motion effect is used at this point.
A point of view from the killers view is then used as if he was watching the girl, the point of view shot is used again to show the killer following the girl we see the hand at this point which gives narrative enigma
A mid shot of the girl is then used to show her reaction. another mid shot is then used to show the girl waking up from her nightmares this showed how scared she was It then goes to a black where a heartbeat starts to play then the music which we started with plays.
The transitions which we chose to you are very slow and subtle, invisible editing this is because we wanted it to be realistic
